My Daughter Handed Me an Invitation to Her Wedding, and When I Opened It, I Nearly Passed Out!

Hey love, youll never guess what happened today. My daughter handed me her wedding invitation, and the moment I opened it I felt my knees give way.

Turns out Ive been through two marriages. From my first one I have a daughter, Holly Clarke. The second marriage gave me a son, Jack Bennett. My first wife, Margaret, never wanted children and just wasnt cut out for motherhood. I wanted Holly to have a proper upbringing, so I sat down with Margaret and arranged for her to come back to me. My current wife, Sarah, agreed to take Holly in as her own.

When Holly turned seventeen, she showed up one afternoon and told us she was pregnant. The bloke who was supposed to be the father bolted the moment he heard the news. We didnt scold her or anything we just welcomed her and the little one with open arms. Sarah suggested we register Holly as a resident of our flat, which seemed the right thing to do.

Holly was out of work until her son started nursery. Sarah raised him like her own, never drawing a line between him and our shared boy, loving both just the same.

A year later Holly met a new guy. They moved in together and soon decided to tie the knot. All the planning fell to Sarah, while Holly only sent out the invitations.

When the invitations arrived, I could barely keep my balance. My name was on the card, but there was not a single mention of Sarah. Imagine my shock! I felt so out of place, not knowing what to do with myself. Sarah had poured her heart into raising Holly, helped organise the whole party, and yet the invite ignored her entirely.

I stood firmly by Sarahs side. On the wedding day I went to the registry office, congratulated the happy couple, and then headed straight home. I didnt even step foot in the restaurant.

Just had to share that with you feels like a proper British drama, doesnt it? Talk soon.
