Dad shook his head, as if to say he hadnt signed up for this and the car would not be lent out so easily.

George stared at his dad in horror. Hed spent the whole day distracted by thoughts of the girl and hadnt done a single bit of homework. His dictation today was dreadful because, once again, the new girl in class had him completely distracted. She was the prettiest girl hed ever seen. He wasnt the only one who fancied her, so hed focused all his energy on winning her over, rather than his studies.

George felt indignant but obediently left the table and retreated to his room.
