One day, Dad called me into his room—he wanted to talk about something serious, or so he said. To be honest, I felt a little worried. Waiting for me in the living room was a woman.

My family revolves around my father, who raised me, cared for me, and gave me unwavering support. After I was born, my mother left us. My father chose not to remarry, likely fearing to endure more heartache. Life hasnt always been gentle with him, and I wanted to grow up quickly so I could help him in everything he had to do as a responsible man.

Due to our financial situation, I started working at the age of 15. I wrote articles for local newspapers, and after three years, I managed to secure a better position. In a few more years, I found an office job which allowed me to become independent and support both myself and my father. One day, my father called me for a serious talkor so he saidwhich made me feel somewhat uneasy. In the sitting room, there was a woman waiting for me, whom my father introduced as my mother.

When she saw me, she burst into tears, apologising and trying to hug me. I could not bring myself to hug her back. I gently freed myself from her arms and left without saying a word, leaving the two of them alone. I decided to let my father handle things as he thought best. I cant forgive someone who abandoned both me and my father so callously and didnt even bother to wish me happy birthday after all these years.
