I was in a panic and unable to speak or move. People were screaming, crying, and praying around me. There was a commotion all around me. Flight attendants told passengers to fasten their seat belts.
Through the porthole, I saw red flashes. When I returned, I noticed a fire in the plane’s turbine. The plane buzzed and shook. Someone desperately called the flight attendant, but their call got lost in a frenzy.
My mother stroked my arm while sitting next to me and said, “Everything will be alright.” She expressed it in a calm tone. But I didn’t understand what she was saying. Wasn’t she scared? Wouldn’t she be afraid that the plane was about to crash?
“Mom, how are you doing? Our plane is on fire, and people are screaming! On top of it all, we are all going to die!” I told her. It was difficult for me to understand the calmness reflected in her eyes, voice, and behavior.
My mother was silent in response to my words. I looked out the window and saw that the plane was descending very low. We would all die as it struck the ground. Time flew by as we got closer to the ground. And here is one moment: the plane hit the ground. The impact was so strong that the iron bird broke into pieces. Nothing was visible but smoke.
After unbuckling my seat belt, I walked over to the wreckage and saw that no one was alive. But why was I alive? What happened to my mother? Upon my return to my seat, I found that my mother’s body was lying in a chair beside mine.
I screamed as I’d never screamed before. I felt someone’s hands on me and was shocked. When I opened my eyes, I realized it was just a dream. In front of me, I saw my mother’s terrified face. When I dreamed of this, I whimpered in pain.
We were going to fly to Italy to visit my grandmother. However, I requested my mother to change the flight because this dream seemed too precise. Fortunately, she listened to me, and we waited for another plane to arrive.
We waited for another flight to reach our destination and visited my grandmother, and I’m happy that she listened to me. I’m glad that it worked out that way, whether it was a dream.
Have you ever been in a situation like this?
