She Faked Pregnancy to Keep Him, But the Doctor at the Baby Shower Exposed Everything

**Diary Entry**

I never imagined a single lie could unravel everything I believed in—especially a friendship like mine with Hannah. We’d been inseparable since university: late-night talks, weekend trips, endless support. But one desperate choice changed it all.

Hannah became distant—always late, glued to her phone, flustered. I blamed work, but something felt off between her and her boyfriend, Oliver. They’d seemed perfect. Then, one evening over a film at her flat, she whispered, “I’m pregnant.”

My stomach dropped. “What? Seriously?”

“Yes.” Her voice wavered. “Oliver wants kids. But if I tell him it’s not true, he’ll leave.”

That’s when the chill set in. Hannah—strong, independent Hannah—faking a pregnancy? I tried reasoning with her, but she refused. “It’s the only way to keep him.”

At first, I played along. Then the cracks showed. No bump. Vague doctor visits. Deflections about a “difficult pregnancy.” When I offered to join her for an appointment, she paled. “No need—I don’t want you worrying.”

The truth came out cruelly at the baby shower. Oliver, beaming, had invited everyone—family, friends, even the “doctor,” Mr. Whitmore.

“Hannah’s told me so much about you,” Oliver said, shaking his hand.

The doctor froze. His eyes locked onto Hannah’s. “I think it’s time to tell the truth.”

Silence. Hannah’s lips trembled. “I’m… not pregnant. I was scared you’d go, Oliver.”

Oliver’s fists clenched. His voice was quiet, razor-sharp. “You lied. Pretended to carry my child. You betrayed me.”

Tears streamed down Hannah’s face, but it was over. The party collapsed into stunned whispers.

“Get out,” Oliver said coldly.

I watched, gutted. She’d manipulated everyone—even begged the doctor to cover for her. But he’d finally refused.

Oliver left without another word. No drama—just finality.

And me? I learned friendship can be an illusion. The person you trust most might be a stranger. Truth always catches up, no matter how long the act lasts.
