Dear Diary,
Today has left me feeling rather unsettled. James, the boys and I were on a little break in the Cotswolds, and wed booked a special daytour that promised to whisk us away to a few hidden spots you cant simply walk to. We bought four tickets so each of us would have a seat on the coach.
When the bus pulled away, a rather plump woman with a toddler squeezed herself in behind us. She tried to settle on the rear seat, then realised there was simply no room for her little boy. She rose, searching for another free spot for the child, and glanced at our two lanky sons, Oliver and Harry, before deciding to place her son beside them.
James immediately objected, reminding her that wed paid for those seats and there was no reason for anyone to be pushed aside. She wouldnt back down; in fact, she began arguing with the guide, insisting that we should make room for her child. She even suggested we quit the tour and ask for a refund, while some other tourists started snickering and calling us selfies.
The driver waited for the dispute to settle, but the atmosphere turned sour. The boys grew restless, eager to get back to the sights, while I was left fretting over the whole episode.
Am I right to stand my ground? After all, I bought the tickets for my children and it seems absurd to force them into cramped conditions. How would you feel in my shoes?
