My Relatives Are Eagerly Anticipating My Departure from This World; They Plan to Take Over My Flat, But I’ve Got Everything Tied Up in Advance.

Hey love, you wont believe the mess Ive been in lately. My kin are practically hanging around, waiting for the day I kick the bucket so they can swoop in and snatch my flat. Ive already sorted things out, though, so they cant have it.

Im a 60yearold solitary lady now, no kids, no husband I was married once, though. When I was 25 I wed Tom because I was head over heels. That marriage fell apart the moment he started seeing someone else. He actually dragged his lover into our little flat, which I simply couldnt stand, so I packed my bags and moved back with my folks. Just two months after the divorce, I found out I was pregnant.

I didnt feel like telling Tom anything I never called him again. I decided Id raise the baby on my own. When my son, Jamie, was born, the doctors dropped a bombshell: he was extremely fragile and had an incurable condition. Hed be lucky to make it to eleven or twelve.

I was lost, not knowing what to do or where to go. I breastfed him, looked after him every single day, but the thought that hed soon leave this world never left my mind.

Jamie turned fifteen, and then, unbelievably, both he and my dad, George, died within a week of each other. I lost two people I loved dearly in one breath.

Dad left me his spacious flat right in the heart of London. Id spent most of my life on my own, and after that tragedy I wasnt keen on having another child the fear of history repeating itself held me back. When I hit fortyfive I bought a laptop to keep in touch with the family and catch up on the news.

Word got around that I was living solo, and suddenly the relatives started popping round in shifts, bearing cakes and little presents. They kept asking whether Id made a will, and when they discovered I hadnt, they began griping about my finances. Some even tried to cozy up to other relatives, hoping to look more respectable in my eyes. I already know who Ill leave the flat to a good mate, Mike, whose daughter, Lucy, has always helped me without a second thought.

All they seem to care about is the flat. I cut off contact with most of them, but they wont quit pestering. One day my cousin, Darren, rang up, cheekily asking if Im still breathing and who Im planning to hand the flat over to. I was so offended I blocked every family member from texting or calling me.

So thats where Im at trying to keep my peace while the clan circles like vultures. Thanks for listening, I needed to get it off my chest.
