Mate, let me tell you my story. So, Im a bachelor now, 45 years old, and I was married for 15 years to an absolute gem of a lady. I always call her lady because thats exactly how she looked elegant, immaculate, always put together.
She always had these flawless nails, smelled like fresh jasmine, and her skin was just radiant. Honestly, her figure was stunning you couldnt tell her age at all. There was this refined, almost regal quality about her. Even her outfits always stylish, never a foot wrong. The way she walked it was like watching poetry in motion, the gentle sway of her hips was something Ill never forget.
The point is, over the years I ended up getting used to being with women who had that air of aristocracy about them proud, confident, almost lioness-like. Eventually though, we grew apart; just didnt mesh anymore, personality-wise. It happens, right? After we split, I didnt have any serious relationships. Id meet women in hotels or rent a flat for a night, just for, you know, healths sake, as the old boys say. I didnt want to commit again, worried everything would fall apart after all those years.
But you know how life is throws a curveball every now and then. Mine came in the form of Charlotte. I wasnt even thinking about dating, and then, bang, met her at an art gallery. She wasnt exactly like my ex not that ideal picture but somehow had a charm of her own. She carried this touch of elegance, mixed with wit and a biting sense of humour. Honestly, her brain was almost more captivating than her looks. Intelligence in a woman? Thats the sexiest thing ever.
We started seeing each other for a couple of months. She usually visited me, but eventually we decided Id go around hers. I was really keen, brought a bouquet of her favourite calla lilies, a nice bottle of English sparkling wine, picked up some candles. Got to her place and it was gorgeous, very sophisticated.
Then I had to use her bathroom, to freshen up, and mate, I was gobsmacked. There werent any beauty products no fancy creams, perfumes, or lotions. Just a cheap shower gel and basic shampoo, absolutely nothing else. Didnt feel like she cared about herself. I mean, if a woman takes time with all those self-care bits and bobs, you know she values herself.
That was a real moment for me. It made me realise Charlotte wasnt quite right for me. So, I left. She just didnt have that proud, regal energy Id grown to appreciate. To be honest, finding someone like my ex again seems pretty unlikely. Guess its just me from now on then. Thats life, eh? Let it be.
