After 34 Years of Marriage, I’ve Fallen for Someone Else—Now I’m Torn and Unsure What to Do

Hey mate, so heres whats been happening. My names Michael, Im 65, and Ive been married for years now. My wife, Susan, shes 62. Weve got a grown-up son, Ben, whos settled down himself wife, kids, the lot. But after Ben got married and moved out, Susan and I just drifted apart, you know? Its almost like were strangers living in the same house.

When we both retired, I really wanted us to get a little place out in the countryside. Susan wasnt keen at all, but after a bit of persuading, she agreed. We ended up buying this cosy cottage in a small village, and moved out there for the summer. I absolutely loved it spent my days outdoors, pottering about in the garden. But Susan just wasnt happy there. She preferred curling up on the sofa with a book or watching telly all day. Wouldnt lift a finger to help me in the garden, claiming she felt unwell. So, I had to do everything by myself.

Come autumn, we went back to London. Susan was over the moon about it, but after a week, I couldnt stand it anymore packed my things and headed back to the village. Honestly, I feel so much more at peace there, so I stayed. Susan remained in the city, and now we hardly see each other.

While living in the village, I ended up falling for another woman her names Margaret, shes 60. At first, she wasnt all that interested in me, but things changed and now it’s going really well between us. Im thinking of divorcing Susan, but Im terrified of how Bens going to take it. For now, Susan thinks Im just busy keeping up with the house and garden. But honestly, I spend a lot of my time with Margaret.

Susan doesnt have a clue about any of this. I havent found the courage to tell her I want to separate. Im at a loss, mate really dont know what to do.
