The moment she walked in, a bunch of the boys started teasing her, but it didnt take long for everyone to see she wasnt easily rattled. Theres another girl in our class, Sophie. Honestly, those same boys have always picked on her, making cruel jokes about her weight. Sometimes shed just go quiet, and other times shed end up in tears, but she never fought back or tried to shut them down. Emilys pretty tall, nearly twice Sophies height, and she quickly became a target for their jokes as well. The difference was that, in her previous school, people actually liked Emily. The kids back in her old neighbourhood used to play with her and treated her well, so she knew how to handle herself.
Things really shifted during lunch in the canteen. One lad actually chucked a bread roll at Emily and made a joke about her figure. Emily just looked a bit taken aback, brushed the crumbs off her jeans, and didnt give him the satisfaction of reacting. A bit later in the corridor, a different boy made another comment about her shape. Then, in PE, the class had to jump over one of those gym horses. When Emily took her turn, the horse toppled over under her. But, bless her, she didnt even flinchshe just pulled off this graceful twist mid-air and landed lightly on her feet. Even with that impressive move, the boys kept laughing. Emily stood her ground, asked them what was so funny, and joked that if they found her so hilarious, perhaps they should try lifting her up themselves. The boys, never turning down a dare, gave it a go and kept on laughing.
Over the holidays, Emily decided shed had enough and put some work into her figure. She got stricter with herself, dyed her hair, and honestly, came back to school even more stunning than before.
When she returned, you should’ve seen the looks on everyones facesthe boys were absolutely gobsmacked. Suddenly, they all wanted to be mates with her.
