One morning, my dad was driving to work and stopped at a petrol station to fill up his car. There was a pregnant girl there, just 19 years old, asking for help. She begged for some change, but he said he didnt have any cash on him and got back in the car to leave.
But a moment later, he changed his mind. He stepped out again and asked her how shed ended up in that situation. She explained shed fallen out with her parents because they didnt agree with her life choicesshed gotten pregnant out of wedlock, and theyd kicked her out. My dad asked if she had a job or any financial support, and she said no. After talking with her, he made a decisionhe handed her his business card and told her to call him the next day.
She did, and he arranged to meet her at his office. He gave her an interview, and a week later, she started working. At first, her job was just answering phones and running small errands. But fast forward a few years, and shes now one of the assistant managers! Shes got her own little family now and is doing brilliantlyall because my dad took a moment to really see her that day.
