From the Bottom of My Heart: I’m a Single Mother, and This Man Helped Me During My Hardest Times!
Endlessly grateful for his kindness,
Nowadays, many say that kindness is old-fashioned, that people have become indifferent and only care for themselves.
I used to think that way too. I’ve faced betrayal, deception, and envy. I saw how even the closest people turn away when you’re in trouble, and how fake friends vanish when you’re no longer beneficial to them.
But life has a way of surprising you. Sometimes it sends you someone who doesn’t have to help, yet they do. And then you realize: all is not lost.
When Everything Falls Apart…
A few months ago, my life was spiraling downhill.
I worked in an office, felt secure about the future, and was making plans. Although money was always tight, I managed because it was just me. No husband, no support, just me and my child.
But then everything fell apart overnight. I lost my job.
The reason? Envy. Gossip. The fake smiles of colleagues who schemed behind my back. The most painful part was being let go even though I was the best at my job.
I was left without work in a small town where every job vacancy is like gold dust.
At first, I was hopeful. I visited companies, made calls, and sent out resumes. I was ready to take any job. Even as a cleaner—anything so I wouldn’t leave my child without a meal.
But the days passed, and no job came.
Then came the terrifying realization: soon, I’d run out of money. The benefits would dry up. What then?
An Unexpected Helping Hand
Just when I was about to give up, my phone rang.
It was my former boss.
He said there was a position opening as a delivery person in his company. The pay would be less than my previous role, but in three months, he’d try to increase my wages.
I couldn’t hold back the tears.
I wept not just out of relief, not just from the joy that I could finally feed my child. I cried because I realized that there are still kind people in this world.
This man wasn’t my friend. We only ever had a professional relationship. He owed me nothing. But he remembered me.
Remembered that I was alone. That I had no one who could support me. Remembered that this job was vital to me.
And he just called.
Kindness That Isn’t Forgotten
I will be thankful to him for the rest of my life.
And not just for the job itself.
But for showing that the world isn’t so bad. That there are people who don’t ignore others’ misfortunes.
I sincerely wish him all the best. I believe that kindness always comes back. That the universe will richly reward him for this act.
Because he deserves it.
He helped a single mother, and in doing so, he changed her fate.
