Is It Wrong? I’m in Love with My Son’s Godfather!
It all began with an unexpected encounter. I never imagined I’d find myself in such a predicament, standing before the mirror, questioning if what I feel is love or something forbidden. How do I proceed with my life now?
Life has its own plans, and I’m at a loss for what to do.
It all started quite ordinarily – like many others, I created a profile on a social network. I reconnected with old friends, family, even those I hadn’t seen in years.
But among all these people was one man whose presence became special to me.
His name was Oliver.
At first, it was just casual messages, light chats, exchanging thoughts.
However, with each passing day, I anticipated his replies more and more, and it seemed he grew fond of our exchanges too.
One day, he sent me a message:
“If you want to chat more often, here’s my number. I rarely log in here, but I’m always available on my phone.”
I didn’t hesitate and sent him a text.
From that point on, we messaged nearly every day.
Oliver was married and had a five-year-old daughter. He spoke about his family without much enthusiasm but didn’t complain either.
At that time, I was on my own.
Just a woman who craved warmth, attention, genuine conversations.
Oliver filled that void.
A Love I Didn’t Want to Admit
A few months went by, and I suddenly realized I thought of him more than I should.
I looked for his messages first thing.
I caught myself wondering – what if we met in person?
I never confessed my feelings to him, knowing it wasn’t right.
But one day, I suggested we meet.
“I’d love to see you too,” he replied.
Yet something kept getting in the way.
I started seeing this as a sign.
Was it for the best?
A New Man, A New Life?
After some time, another man came into my life – Daniel.
He was kind, caring.
I started a new relationship, hoping to forget Oliver.
But it didn’t last.
Oliver and I continued chatting.
When I told him I’d found someone, he was happy for me.
But I sensed a change in him.
Then, I discovered I was pregnant.
I messaged Oliver, and his first reaction was:
“Will you keep the baby?”
“Of course,” I replied.
He was silent for a while, then said:
“I’ve got a divorce.”
I was taken aback.
The Man Who Became My Son’s Godfather
When our son was born, I knew who should be his godfather.
I insisted it be Oliver.
Daniel didn’t object. He knew Oliver was my friend, a good, reliable man.
On the day of the christening, we finally met in person.
For the first time.
I looked at him, unable to look away.
I saw how he looked at me.
We talked for just ten minutes – I told Daniel I went to fetch Oliver because he was from another city and might get lost.
Ten minutes, yet it tore my heart apart.
I realized: I love him.
And he feels the same.
A Belated Love
Six months have passed.
I haven’t seen him again, but we write to each other constantly.
Every day.
Every time my son falls asleep, I grab my phone and await his message.
I know I’m more than just his godson’s mum to him.
I sense that he loves me too.
Recently, I asked:
“Did you get divorced because of me?”
He replied:
“No, it wasn’t because of you.”
But I know – he lies.
We love each other.
But do I have the right to this?
Is it wrong to love my son’s godfather?
Can I fight for my happiness?
Or is this a belated love that will never see the light of day?
I don’t know.
But I can’t ignore my feelings any longer…
