“My grandmother never had a mobile, but she knew how to listen to me better than anyone…”
She didn’t have WhatsApp, a front-facing camera, or a clue how to video call. But when I spoke, she looked me in the eyes… and I felt like my whole world mattered.
She didn’t use filters, yet her face shone brighter than any screen. She didn’t send emojis, but with a squeeze of my hand, she’d silently say, “It’ll all be alright.”
She never wore headphones because her ears were always free for me. She never texted “I love you.” Instead, she said it every morning with a hot cup of tea and shared quiet moments.
Now, I miss her more than any notification. Because modern life gave us a thousand ways to stay connected, yet sometimes we forget how to truly listen.
This isn’t a trending post. It’s just the truth.
