My mother-in-law has decided to move in with us and hand over her flat to her daughter.

My husband, James, grew up in a large family. His mother kept having children until she finally had a girla strange choice, but who am I to judge?

When we married, I thought I was lucky. James seemed responsible, dependable, and strong. He knew the value of family, yet he could never quite detach from his mother and sister. While she didnt fuss much over her sons, her daughters comfort always came first.

Emily was ten when I met her. At first, she wasnt a bother, but five years later, things took a turn. She refused to study, ran with a rough crowd, and James was constantly bailing her out. My mother-in-law would call at all hours, demanding he sort out some crisis.
