One Day, My Dad Called Me Into His Room for a Very Serious Talk—Or So He Said. I Was Nervous, Then W…

One day, my father called me into his study he told me he wanted to discuss something important. Ill admit, I was a bit on edge. When I entered the sitting room, I found a woman waiting for me.

My family has always revolved around my father. He brought me up single-handedly, always looked out for me, and offered unwavering support. My mother left us not long after I was born, and my dad made the decision never to remarry, probably out of fear of being hurt again. Life hasnt always been kind to my father, and I wanted more than anything to grow up quickly so I could help him with all the responsibilities he faced.

Given our financial situation, I started working when I was fifteen, writing articles for the local newspapers. After three years, I managed to land a better position, and several years later, I secured an office job that allowed me to provide not just for myself but also for my father. Then, one day, he sat me down for what he called a serious talk. I couldnt help feeling uneasy. In the lounge, a woman waited and according to my father, she was my mother.

As soon as she saw me, she broke down in tears, apologizing and trying to hug me. But I couldnt bring myself to hug her back. Gently pulling away from her arms, I left the room without a word, leaving my father and her alone. I decided it was best to let my father handle things however he thought right. I just couldnt forgive someone who had left me and my dad behind so thoughtlessly, and didnt even bother to wish me a happy birthday all those years.
