A young mother sat on a park bench, completely spent. In her armstwo restless twins who hadnt let her sleep for months. Her mother-in-law stood nearby, lips pursed with disapproval, while her husband idly checked the time again and again.

For the first time in ages, a genuine smile graced her face. She straightened her coat and locked eyes with her husband.

At last, she returned at ten o’clock. Calm, with a fresh hairstyle and a coffee in hand. She didnt yell or try to explain.
Well be changing the way things work round here, she told her helpless husband. Either we share the work equally, or tomorrow Ill goand that time, Ill take my suitcase.
That night, for the very first time, the husband got up to the babies at three in the morning. Because he finally understood: his wife was not a machine, nor a servant. She was a human being, whose energy was not infinite.
