Lost Youth: 40 Years, No Family, No Children, and a Heart in Ruins
I’ve realized what a huge mistake I’ve made.
I’m writing this letter not for anyone to pity me, but just to let out everything that’s suffocating me from the inside.
And also to reach out to those women who currently trust the sweet words of married men and think their story will be different.
I know how it all ends.
And if I could turn back time…
I would do everything differently.
First Mistake: Michael
In my youth, I was lovely.
Tall, slender, with delicate features, there was no one like me.
I could have chosen anyone, but I chose Michael.
Married.
Fifteen years older than me.
Experienced, charismatic, successful.
Our affair lasted five years.
Five years of lies, waiting, and tears.
“I’ll leave my wife soon.”
“I don’t love her anymore, but I don’t want to traumatize the kids.”
“I want to wake up next to you every day.”
I believed, I waited, I endured.
And one day he simply said it was over.
“You deserve better.”
“I can’t offer you a future.”
I cried, I begged him to stay, I was ready to forgive everything, but his decision was final.
It took me two years to piece myself back together.
Second Mistake: Robert
He was always there.
Young, caring, kind.
He’d bring me flowers, call, ask if I’d eaten, if I was dressed warmly.
I decided it was fate.
After four months we moved in together, and I believed he was the one.
I wanted a family, children.
But he wanted to “live for himself a bit longer.”
For three years, I waited for him to settle down, to propose, to realize that I was his destiny.
But one day, I came home early…
There was another woman in OUR bed.
I slammed the door and left.
And I never heard a word of apology.
I just packed my things and disappeared.
We never saw each other again.
Third Mistake: Married and Honest
I moved to another city.
And there I met him.
Young, vibrant, charismatic.
But married.
We both felt the pull.
We’d meet “by chance,” have coffee…
Then couldn’t stop ourselves.
But he was honest from the start:
“I’ll never leave my wife.”
“I love both her and you.”
I agreed.
His love was enough for me.
For two and a half years, I lived with this tiny happiness.
Until one day, he said:
“I’m moving to Canada with my family.”
“Sorry.”
“Goodbye.”
I cried once more.
I lost love yet again.
But this time, I simply accepted fate.
The Result: 40 Years – No Family, No Children
I’m forty.
I have no family.
I have no children.
I only have memories and emptiness inside.
I wasted the best years on men who never chose me.
And I allowed it to happen.
To those who are currently “in love with a married man”
Don’t do it.
Don’t lose yourself for someone else’s promises.
Don’t give your heart to a man who can’t be yours entirely.
Run from lies while you still can.
Otherwise, one day you’ll wake up at forty.
Alone.
With empty hands.
And a soul burned to ashes.
